The Emery Roth designed mid-block 14-story showroom/office building is located on the South side of West 38th Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, in Manhattan’s Garment District. While the location was historically dominated by manufacturing uses, East End seized an opportunity to capitalize upon a transforming tenant base which was expanding to include designer showrooms, graphic design and printing, and architecture, engineering, media, and advertising firms. A “prototypical” East End asset, the building was half empty at acquisition, but following an expansive and targeted capital program to appeal to the new breed of tenant, was rapidly full. This asset was sold to American Realty Capital in December 2012.
